Re: Old documents

Yes. If you can recall what program was likely used to create them, try renaming the extension to that which would have been used by the original program (for example, .doc for an old Word document). If the program that created them is no longer available, like .cwk for AppleWorks, you’re probably o...

The answer very much depends on whether it’s a pop account (who is still using those?!), where you want to retain them, and for how long. For POP, there’s no simple answer: IMAP much less confusing.

Re: Photo contest prizes

We’re trying to arrange a new prize. We’ll make an announcement when we have one.

Edited to add: Regrettably, Henry’s has opted not to honour L&S gift cards.

Re: Shadow images in Photos

That's usually indicative of either corrupted thumbnails, or a missing original photo. This often happens when people "manually" move stuff around in the Photos folder (on the Finder level) rather than using Photos itself to move things.

Re: Email password

I forgot to add the message I get when I try to change the password. Screen Shot 2019-05-02 at 9.09.47 AM.png That looks like a possible corrupted keychain file. Re: iMac won't wake from sleep after updating to OS 10.14.4

There’s no need or reason to shut down the computer at night. Just put it to sleep. Problem solved.

Re: iPhone Xs flashlight

Is there anywhere in settings where you can remove that flashlight icon from the lock screen? Sorry it took me a while to see this, Dave. You totally can customize what's on the lock screen, and there's another tip that will prevent this from happening as well. On your device, go to Settings -> Con...
