Laptop keeps going to sleep

I am using a 2013 Laptop running High Sierra, I have gone to the Eneregy Saver setting and set it to not go to sleep for over an hour as I am working on something that requires me to move between it and the project I am working on. Since I am not doing anything with the computer during that time it is very annoying for me to have to log back in every 10 minutes or so. Did I miss something in the Energy Saver in System Preferences or is there somewhere else I need to go to fix this. Thanks.

Are you sure it is really going to sleep and not just having a screen saver kick in? Check out System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver and then select the Screen Saver tab. There may be something selected there and in the bottom left corner there is an option to "Start after:" which maybe set to 10 minutes.

Thank you, I will take a look at what you suggest. I do have to sign in each time it goes off so I am no sure if it is screen saver kicking , I do know it is annoying.

I think Dave's on to it, there's a screensaver turned on that requires an unlock to stop. Turn that off (or at least remove the unlock requirement) and you should be good.

That was a great suggestion, finally to to test it and thank goodness you helped me solve the problem, and thank you also to Charles for his input.
