printer

I have a small brother no color Lazer Jet printer. I went to pick up a toner and found it's more costly than a new printer. I'm a senior with very little printing other than a few hobbies. Any suggestions? I know there was discussion on Tech Talk a few weeks back about the exorbitant costs...
