I downloaded Big Sur forgetting that Brother MCF 782 ON printer is 32 bit and Big Sur demands 64 bit! The printer works just as well as it did when I bought it and I hate to replace it over this one issue. But I do a lot of scanning of photos and print materials.
I visited the Brother site and they don't seem to recognize this issue in their Troubleshooting section. Also the updates they provide only go back as far as IOS 10. They do have something called a "Generic PCL Driver" but I'm not sure this will work on an OIS system or will resolve the situation.
I'm sure I'm not the only person having this issue and wonder if anyone else has been able to resolve printer problems using 32 bit and no obvious upgrade for 64 bit on the manufacturers site? I have a handheld scanner but its not as reliable or easy to use. I use it for scanning documents at the library or Family Search materials.
Thanks, David
