Best deal from a dealer phone service only

Hi there, mom is 90 and has a flip phone. My step dad is no longer able to drive, so handydart it is. I have an old iPhone 5. They would be calling only, no text or data.
Shaw offers $15/month. ($45 hookup which could be waived). Any other suggestions?

A quick check shows the cheapest plan with Public Mobile to be also $15/mon. If the hookup can be waived by Shaw it looks like your best option. You could check at any London Drugs if there's any other deals through Public Mobile not listed. You may still need a SIM card, but if there's one in the phone and Shaw will reactivate free, that's pretty good.

Thanks Dave! There is no SIM card in the apple phone. On the flip phone it is a pay as u go, (I understand ) so not sure if it has a card or not, or how that works,

As I understand it the phone number is recorded on the SIM card, so without one it wouldn't be much use. Perhaps emergency calls out would work, but nothing else. I think it would be at least $10 to get a card, perhaps more these days.

Thank you Dave, I found out mom prepays $100 for the year with Telus, it works out to be about $11 per month. So hopefully the SIM card can be removed from the flip and put into an iPhone. I appreciate ur feedback.
