Book Spines

I need help designing the spine for my book. I'd like to save the expense of having the printer do the work. How do I get a Pages template for creating the text to be read sideways along a book spine? Thanks.

You’ll need to know how wide the spine is going to be, but once you have the total dimensions you can create a blank document with those measurements, drag guide lines to the area you’ll need for the spine, create a text box with your text for the spine in it, and then turn that text box 90 degrees.
