You can try cleaning the heads a couple more times (not more than three though), check to see if that model offers a “deep clean” option, or replace the printer.

Thanks Chas Deep cleaning seems to have worked for files from Notes and screen shots but won't print from pages or numbers.

Any chance this printer uses 2 different black cartridges (as some do) and one of them is either empty or clogged? Perhaps Notes uses one of the blacks and Pages is trying to use the other?

Thanks I’ll just keep deep cleaning. Found a work around just change text to colour in pages. I have a hp printer to do black in numbers.

It does sound like one of the two black inks “pgblack” or regular “black” is still clogged — if you can print okay in other situations but not text in apps like Numbers, I think that’s the problem.

Wait a few days before doing another deep clean. It’s very wearing on the print heads and should not be used routinely.

If that doesn’t work, it’s time to reevaluate your print needs and based on that, consider a new printer.
