After many warnings especially from Chas, and recent problems with Shaw rejecting list mailings to my Shaw address (others experiencing this too) I bit the bullet and attempted to create an icloud.com email address. After many false starts in various places, I went to the icloud mail web site, followed instructions, selected an address which was confirmed as available, and went ahead to create it. This message came up:

I have tried numerous times at different times of day, and tried with Firefox as well as Safari, because I have been having difficulty with my old version of Safari. Same result every time. Is there something obvious I need to do?
