drag images from photos

Up until a couple of days ago I was able to drag photos from Photos to the desk top or a folder .... Now I cannot.
I must of changes a preference somewhere..... any Ideas????
(where is that short pencil)!

Further to this ,,,, I can't drag and drop from Firefox.... as in, grab the url and drag it to the desktop.

Are you using a mouse or a trackpad?

Have you checked System Preferences > Mouse or System Preference > Trackpad (as appropriate) to see if you have accidentally changed some setting there?

Here is the setting.... I did not make any changes
I was able to drag the screen shot to this document.... ?????
However can't drag the document from here to the desktop....!!!

If you can stand the ad at the beginning this might help. I admit I didn't even watch the thing--the ad turned me off, but I haven't had a problem, either.
