Extending Wi-Fi network

I'm looking for advice/experience regarding extending my wi-fi network. Relocating the Airport Extreme/Time Capsule base station is not practical but I can easily run an ethernet cable to another router. Our Apple TV is not getting a full strength signal and there are occasional problems with communication between my iPad and the Apple TV. Research indicates an Airport Express would likely work just fine and be dead easy to setup but there are lots of other routers for much less money. Any suggestions for an appropriate router to extend the network?

I use an Express to extend my network which is based on a Time Capsule. From the Express, I run an ethernet cable to the TV. I have found that to deliver good results.

Norm, that's a good solution, but it might not fix the issue of communication between the iPad and Apple TV.

You can certainly use another router as an "extender" for the AE/TC's signal (placed halfway between the AE and the "slow spot" should do the trick) or just buy a good-quality extender (the cheap ones don't tend to work very well). Check online for instructions on how to turn the router you may choose into a repeater/extender. The AirPort Express has been discontinued for a while and although it still works great for now and is indeed "dead easy" to set up, other options generally have directions that aren't too hard to follow.
