Family sharing/icloud

Morning everyone: I have a 200GB FS acct. It appears that the 7 year old is using 112 of them. I don't know if it's all the apps or all the BAD videos that is the culprit but I think it may be all the videos he takes as the iCloud photos is turned on. When I turn it off on his iPod, a notice comes up that asks, remove from ipod or download photos and videos. I am not quite sure what it means! What happens to them if I turn it off? I don't want him to lose them but I don't want anymore going on the iPod either, it struggles with no room now lol. They may not be my cup of tea but he thinks they're fine. Do the ones on there stay where they are? And if I leave icloud photos off on his device does that stop him from using up all the storage is I guess what I'm asking. Thanks hope everyone is well. Donna

I’m not sure who FS is so I can’t speak to that, but the message options are clear: if you are turning off iCloud syncing, then the options are to store the videos on-device (so you can delete them from iCloud later) or to simply cut off access to the items stored on iCloud and future syncing to iCloud.

Sorry Chas FS is family sharing, he does alot of videos and looks like he is the heavy user of the 200GB storage plan. Is there a way to just turn off the sharing to photos on his ipod? he also shares Arcade (for now) so I didn't want to remove him totally, though I don't think I can anyway. D

Arcade is taking up zero of your shared iCloud space, don’t worry about that.

He can turn off iCloud photos Library on his device separately of other sharing to iCloud. This is done in the Settings app under his name, iCloud, Photos.

Be aware that doing that will mean his photos will disappear from iCloud, so he’ll want to find another way to back them up.
