How to import into Pages a .csv or .tsv file

Seems to me that there was a day when both .csv and .tsv files could be imported into a word-processing program.
Today, it seems that the only program that will accept such a file is a spreadsheet.
Well, it is from a spreadsheet that I want to have the information transferred into Pages!

Tricky, but not impossible.

Since .csv files are most commonly either address books or spreadsheets, it makes sense to open the file in Numbers.

From there, you can copy and paste the relevant data into Pages, OR if you want to preserve the formatting, export the Numbers file as a PDF and then just drag the PDF file into your Pages document.

Thanks for your thoughts, Chas.
As I recall, there was a day when a .csv file -- comma separated value -- could be moved into a word-processing file and the comma would represent a tab function. Maybe that was in the days of AppleWorks …
Point is that I wish to
take two columns from a spreadsheet,
place them in a Pages document and
manipulate the information within Pages.
This information could be, for instance, a list of names; i.e., surname <tab> first name.
Thanks!
Dick

I’m a little unclear on why you wouldn’t just keep the spreadsheet in Numbers and manipulate the data as you wish. Numbers can also be used to add shapes, other text, pictures, etc as Pages can do.
