How to tell which ios on wiped phone

Hi there. So i wiped cleaned my iphone 11pro to sell. Someone just asked which ios was on it? Is there a way to fast track or do i need to run thru the set up to find out. Can i get to settings without set up. This person wanted ios 16 or less, why would this be or is it a brush off?

My guess is that you need to run through the set up again, find the version, and then (optionally) wipe it again. But during the set up you can skip through a lot of the steps (like setting up face-id, Siri, iCloud etc. to get to the answer more quickly. And then if you haven't entered any personal info during that process, there is probably no reason to wipe it again. Then it is easier to demonstrate to the prospective buyer.

It should be the same version of iOS that was on the iPhone before you wiped it.

I couldn’t remember so I reset the phone again. Sold my iPhone 11pro to a nice young student $260
