iPhone 13 mini vs new SE 3rd Gen

Wondering if one model is preferable to the other. On a monthly plan, they are very close in cost, with the 13 mini a couple of bucks more per month. Seems that the 13 has more Ram and double camera - and no button so face recognition.

Also, is the service quality by Koodo (Telus sub) comparable to Virgin (Bell, sub)?

Any thought and observations appreciated.

But from podcasts I have listened to, the new SE has the updated chip, but nothing else was updated - older camera technology etc. So unless you are convinced you want touch ID over Face ID, or like the exact size, the 13 is better if you can go for the extra cost. Far better camera etc.

Again, I can't speak to Virgin, but I have been on Koodo for years and perfect happy with the service quality (It is the Telus network of course.)

If you are a Shaw (cable and/or internet) customer, definitely drop by the Shaw stores in Mayfair or Uptown and have a chat about what an iPhone 13 mini (or SE) would cost you including plan -- you could probably get a better deal that way, but also its worth asking for comparison's sake.

Thanks Chas. Wondering with Roger buying out Shaw, what that will mean? Will they merge or one become the discount brand?? Seems that to reduce costs and extend coverage, they could reduce duplication by using the same towers or the best towers for broader coverage. Was on Rogers initially and its coverage was not as good as Virgin. Not sure of what Shaw's coverage is like.

Nobody quite knows, yet. Shaw can be so cheap because it actually leverages VOIP as much as possible, using actual cell towers only when needed. Rogers of course has no interest in being a discount brand anything.

I have Shaw for my personal phone, no complaints but bear in mind I rarely go far outside the CRD area. I have Rogers for my work phone and coverage/speed is generally quite good, though there are some odd (to me) dead spots.
