Keyboard cover and overheating ?

Will a plastic protective (against spill)keyboard cover cause over heating of a MacBook Air?

It’s conceivable, since the MBA has no fan and disperses heat through both the keyboard and it’s metal body, but unlikely. If you’re working an MBA so hard that overheating is a concern, it’s the wrong machine for that job.

Another good option: don’t drink/eat anything near a computer.
