Mac Mail problem

How do I "white list" an email so that I receive it and it doesn't keep being blocked. I don't seem to be able to find anything in settings where I can allow this particular email to go into my inbox. I need to have these emails from this individual accessible to me. Thanks.

What do you mean by "blocked"? Are you finding that this particular email ends up in Junk? If so you can either right click on it and select "move to inbox" or just open it in the Junk mailbox and select "Move to Inbox" at the upper right. Mail should learn from that. You should also make sure that the sender of this particular email is in your Contacts.

Unfortunately it isn't showing up anywhere, if it were I know how to move it to the inbox. I know who is sending it and they get a resonse saying it has been blocked. It is to my mac.com email address. Ahh you may have hit the answer, they aren't in my contacts to I shall put them in and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

You may have set a rule or filter that is causing this email to go directly to the trash, so also check there. In some cases, it's not Mail that is causing the black listing, it's Gmail or whatever email provider you have for mail. In those cases, adding them to your contacts should help.

I don't have any rules or filters at all in my mail setting, and it is actually to my Mac email address. It is a newsletter that I am supposed to get connected to work and they have now told me they can't resend just to me so I will have to wait until next month before I see if adding them to my contacts solves the problem. Thanks for the suggestion Charles, will let you know the outcome.

There is a possibility that your internet provider is stopping this email if it thinks it is spam. When I still used Telus for my email they had settings whereby you could have emails that they thought were spam marked as "Telus suspected spam" and then just passed on to me, or I could set it so that emails that they thought were spam were just deleted by them automatically. As they sometimes got it wrong I never used that setting, preferring the first choice instead so I could set up a rule to direct such marked emails into a special folder (mailbox) where I could view them and handle them myself. These choices were done by logging into my Telus account through Safari and finding the setting choices there. Depending on who your email service provider is, there may be something similar happening.
