The most important option for me is Date but Mail automatically adds Subject so that it is not possible to get a string of emails just by date. Is that not possible?
Thanks Cougurr and Dave WT.I agree that the settings as shown above work for me however I selected Newest message on top so when I look a my list of emails the top of the list is the most current by date and time. The subject simply appears to the left of the date line I believe because Apple is using the top of the actual email layout to display for you as listed.
Expanded it looks like this for me.
The first screen shown below is showing the list by date newest on top and you can see where the actual email heading on the right seems to just be narrow and the subject line does show to the left of the date but the order is still by date.View attachment 663View attachment 662
Perhaps the way to look at it is a bunch of playing cards where there are two colours along with 4 suits and all the numbers. You can ask to view all the red one but the numbers are still going too show for both groups of colours and suits. If you ask to sort by numbers they will all show in number order but not removing the colours of red and black nor the suits on the cards. Bottom line is all the information will always be visible but you can have the newest one at the bottom or top of your list as desired but all the rest of its information will always be visible.
