Malwarebytes

I should have added for the benefit of you and others who may read this that the reason MalwareBytes needs full disk access is so that it can remove any malware it finds. System utility-type programs will often ask for full disk access so that they can perform maintenance, however one should always be cautious about granting full disk access to non-recommended utility and "cleanup" type programs, or to apps that you wouldn't expect need to write files beyond the User's folders.

Currently, the only "cleanup" type apps VMUG recommends are MalwareBytes (available at computer stores or directly from malwarebytes.com) and CleanMyMac X (available from macpaw.com). Macs do not require "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" apps beyond MalwareBytes, and don't require "memory cleaners" or most other "cleanup" type apps.
