When I log into this forum (usually late at night) I find I am the only member logged in, while there are several "guests" connected at the same time. At the moment I am the only one logged in with 5 guests also here having a look. I am amazed these guests don't bother to register for the forum and log in. The forum works so much better when you are actually registered and logged in.
Before I log in, I have no idea what new items have been posted since I was last here. But once I am logged in, the forum shows (by a highlight colour) just which topics have new content. I can just look there and ignore the rest, rather than browsing all the topics in case I miss something. And if I pose a question, I can set it to send me an email if there is a reply so I know I should visit the forum again.
