Love love love the iPad Air. So much faster. And no home button! ( it has a few glitches which I need to take in - says can’t back up wants me to purchase more space which I have and duplicates in contacts wont merge.
However, question
1. I didnt get apple care. What are your thoughts for an iPad? (I always get for a phone)

2. I have a $100 gift card needing to be used in the states. Recommendations for accessories? I will buy a phone case for the iPhone 16. (I’ll be buying in Canada)
. I do have an Apple AirTag, air pods. What are your thoughts on MagSafe. thank you for your response. Even in the store I wanted to buy a case for 16 but they said they don’t know what will be released so held off on the case until after Monday.

If you buy a case from Apple when the 16 is released, you are safe of course. Some third party makers might have been tipped off so they could begin production of their version of the case in time for the launch of the 16 but other makers might be basing their case merely on their guesses. In that situation you may end up with a case that doesn't fit properly, doesn't protect properly or won't allow all the buttons to work properly. So even "after Monday" if you are thinking of a third party case, it might be best to hold off longer until the reviews of that particular case come in.

When I bought my iPhone 15 Pro last year, I went with the Apple silicon case. It has an incredibly grippy feel, so there is almost no chance it will slip out of my hand and be dropped, and of course, it fits properly. I also bought a Zagg Elite glass screen protector and in spite of some people's reservations of such an installment I swear by them. I see I have a 1 inch scratch down one edge of the screen protector now. Sure glad that scratch isn't on the phone's glass and replacing the screen protector is cheap!

I can't comment on the iPad. I don't have one.

Bring that iPad Air in to an Apple Authorized Service Provider (we have a few here in town) and they’ll take care of the problems you mention. The backup problem can probably be solved by you signing out of your Apple ID, then signing back in. If you bought the 50GB iCloud storage level, the iPad might be telling you that you actually need the 200GB level. You can manage all that in iCloud preferences.
