No tone heard from one person when Message received

My wife (on iOS 18.0.1) generally hears a tone when someone sends her a Message. However when one of our daughters (also an iPhone user) sends her a Message, no tone is played. I can't find a setting that would cause that. I did find this article:

https://appletoolbox.com/what-happens-when-you-hide-alerts-on-iphone/ which seems to apply completely but I can not find such a "Hide Alerts" setting in iOS 18.0.1 Can anyone suggest what I am missing, please?

I should have dug a little deeper. I have now found the answer lies in the Messages app, and I was looking in Settings. On my wife's iPhone I clicked on the Messages thread for my daughter. I then tapped on her name at the top and the resulting screen that came up had the "Hide Alerts" button which she had somehow accidentally turned on. All working as wanted now.
