Non iTunes music from old phone to new.

Where is the "non ITunes music" residing on the old iPhone? I have lots of stuff not purchased from iTunes (such as my own CD's that I ripped into iTunes, music files from audio tapes etc.) and when I backed up my old iPhone and then restored to the new iPhone it all just moved from one to the other. (In the Music app as it is now called.) It might be helpful to know the version of iOS you are dealing with also.

I moved from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 13+. I have the latest software on my new phone. I’ll have to check what’s on my old phone as I haven’t powered it for a while. None of the music from my CDs etc. was transferred.

Is this music playable from the (Apple) Music app on your old phone? Is it listed in the library?

I think the solution here is to go into settings on both devices, scroll down to Music, tap that and check that “sync library“ is on on both phones.

The music from Apple is on my old phone. It’s listed in the library. Both phones are on sync library. The non-Apple Music will not load on the new phone unless I do it song by song.

You say that the music from Apple is "on my old phone It's listed in the library". Does that imply the "non-Apple Music" is NOT listed in the library on the old phone? If so how is it stored there?
