Setting how long emails are kept

What is the route to set the retention time of emails?

Hi Dick,
I don't believe there is any setting so that messages are automatically deleted after a certain time, except for those in the Junk folder or in the trash. You can set how long messages should be left in the mail trash before they're permanently deleted with the Preferences > Accounts.

What is the route to set the retention time of emails?

The answer very much depends on whether it’s a pop account (who is still using those?!), where you want to retain them, and for how long. For POP, there’s no simple answer: IMAP much less confusing.
