Sync Contacts with iPhone Contacts?

I recently discovered that the Contacts I have on my iMac were not in sync with the Contacts app on my iPhone SE. I logged into icloud.com via Safari and found that the Contacts there matched my iMac Contacts so I turned my attention to my iPhone. I found the faulty setting there, and now my Contacts app on the iPhone gives the same results as Contacts on my iMac.

However if I touch the phone icon and then at the bottom select the "Contacts" icon there I do not get the same list. Is there a way to sync this "Contacts" with what is in the Contacts app?

There is no other set of contacts. It all pulls from the Contacts app.

Have you tried turning the phone off and restarting it? Are you sure it’s not just a case of the info being presented slightly differently?

Thanks for the reply Chas,

This is a mystery to me... AS I mentioned, I first had an issue of syncing the contacts on my iMac with the Contents app on my iPhone. After I resolved that and confirmed that the two sets of contacts (iMac and iPhone Contacts app) were perfectly in sync,
I clicked on the phone icon and there clicked on "contacts" and the list presented was very much different. But tonight after reading your reply I went back to confirm that was still the case, and now I find it is fully in sync. So there seemed to be delay in the two ways of getting to my contacts giving the same results.
