Text on a curve

I would like to be able to create some text on a curve.

I have an app called Eazydraw that can do it, but it spaces the letters farther apart as it curves the text, which in my situation isn't ideal, as that makes the text longer than desired to fit the space I have available. (making the font smaller to counter that has its limits too for my situation. I see various articles after a web search that claims Pages can do it, but the steps they suggest don't seem to match the Pages version I have (14.5) - Probably no use upgrading to that newer version I keep getting nagged about as it is unlikely to add new features unless I pay for a subscription, and this is a one time need. Any other suggestions (short of buying yet another app?

Just a thought. Create what you want, size and font, then a photo of it. Upload into Photoshop in which there are options to deal with text.

Thanks but not a Photoshop user. I was able to use Eazydraw today and found a font that produces a narrower over all line of text. That would fit into the space I had better and then allowed me to use a larger font size as a result making the final result more readable. What I am working with are tiny font sizes that really push the limit of what is readable. As this is a one time project, I didn't want to throw money at it by buying another app.

Thanks Chas, I need to play with that a lot more. A quick look suggests, while I could print on a half circle, I am not sure I see (yet) how to set the radius of that circle. So as you make the (limited range for an available) font smaller, The actual radius of the circle may not be controllable. In my case I want to fit between a 1 inch circle and an half inch circle, so on a diameter of about ⅞". At this size the font is almost too small to read. (Clearer on my Mac than in the copied image below).

The InkPX image gets even fuzzier at these sixes and the curvature is much flatter.

But I may have missed something on a first try.
