Has anyone else noticed this? Since the latest macOS update to 26.5 (or perhaps it started in 26.4) my Touch ID isn't working to log into the Mac Mini. It tells me I have to use the password, I do that and get in, and then Touch ID works for other things once I am in. But then I walk away, the Mac goes to sleep and when I come back to use it again, Touch ID won't get me in. My wife (also on 26.5 on her MacBook Air) notices the same thing. Is there a setting I need to tweak?
Looked into this a bit more and lots of articles about this and lots of things to try to alleviate it. One other thing I have noticed (and reported by others) is that when you start to type your password at the login screen it won't accept characters for several seconds so if you are typing blindly you have to erase later characters that were accepted after the first few were ignored. Then getting to the working desktop is very slow.
