Us phone for authentication code

So i just opened a cibc USA chequing account. My dad has an account at wells fargo. I set it up to transfer money between the 2. Now wells fargo requests a 4 digit verification. My cdn cell number or home phone will not work. It needs to be a US cell phone (not a landline)
Can i get a US sim card , (pit in my phone to get code then change back) or pay as i go , or get a phone from the states? Finding the easiest way so that i can obtain a code to transfer money. Appreciate thoughts.

List your dad’s number for the code and have him text it to you.

Alternatively, you can get a US number through Skype for around $30/year they can text the code to.

Hey chas. Thanks for ur response. Dad is 91 and does not have a cell phone. The bank will not take a home phone.

Someone suggested google talkU. I did get the bank to request this number approval . I downloaded the app. they knew it wasnt a cell). It is to take 5 days, ill see what happens. I guess I could ask an american friend to use
Their number. As as u suggested get a US skype number. I would get one month just to see if it is accepted by the bank.
Thank you
