Hi Chas,
I bought one similar to yours a little over a month ago when I was in Calgary. Originally when the concept was announced, I was sure I would get one because I have a lot of watches and this one intrigued me. However, when they came out, the size did not appeal to me - even the smaller one seemed big to me. Up to the day before I bought it, I swore I wouldn't. I bought the sports band model (black) and I will get some other bands down the road. Would loved to have bought the mesh band one but just can't afford it right now.
I love it and find no down side to it at all. I am pleasantly surprised with the battery life - about a day and a half.
The size doesn't seem so big now and while they are more on the masculine side, the customizing aspect of the faces to match your activity or mood, is great and softens the look.
What I like most about it is I don't miss messages and phone calls that I did on the iPhone because I either didn't hear it or took too long to dig it out from wherever it was or that it was on silent mode.
One question - my phone is a 5s so it doesn't have access to Apple Pay - do I have to wait for the update to 5s before I can have Apple Pay on the watch (not that I will be using it much at the moment if it is only good for AMEX)?
Thanks.
Bal
