Apple User Group Bulletin - May 17, 2021
......................................................................

While many user group leaders have missed getting together with friends in the user group community since the last Macworld, it has been harder than ever to get together over the last year. So, when leaders responded to the April survey, it was truly wonderful to hear from long-time and much loved groups. Thanks much to the leaders who responded. Each name brought a fond memory (in some cases many, many fond memories), a smile on this side of the screen, and a reminder that the user group community is both vibrant and caring.

What were the results? Groups are amazingly responsive and flexible. While most (75%) met-face-to-face prior to the pandemic, many moved seamlessly to other ways of staying connected (Okay, for some it was not that seamless, but they saw success.)

Better yet, as groups look ahead to a post-pandemic world they are looking at multiple formats as a way of building and retaining membership while staying in touch with each other. Some groups are moving to hybrid formats, and some have even built new partnerships with other groups during the pandemic.

Did they have advice? Of course! And, they offered insights regarding how they make decisions about where, when, and how to meet.

Check out this month's blog articles to see the survey's results.

(Thanks to Curt B. for the idea for the survey.)
