Bizarre Mail problems

I'm having instances when my phone will pick up mail but my Macbook pro will 'ding' as if it received mail -- but it does not show up in my in basket until later.
Combine this with some Telus problems - I am getting login warning texts for my bank account hours after login; even the next day, plus many spurious copies of those warnings. Is anyone else having email receiving issues? Telus texting issues? It is getting serious as I have a slideshow to do (today) for a funeral and many of the emails that have come in on my phone are simply not there only laptop. Weird.

First thing to check would be that every one of your devices is syncing mail, which you would find under Settings -> (Your Name) -> iCloud on iOS devices and System Preferences -> [Your Name] -> Apple ID on a Mac.

There are occasional delays between devices that receive **SMS** text messages and those that do not do so natively (like non-cellular iPads) -- but that has nothing to do with email. Check your junk mail folder on the device that isn't getting the emails at the same time as your iPhone, and also check to see if you have "push" set on that device. If not, there will naturally be a delay -- as Mail (on, for example, a Mac) will otherwise only check for new mail periodically (however often you've set).

Somehow, eventually, the big batch of lost mail came flowing in. The slideshow project is completed. Will keep seeking answers.

Sounds like there was a problem connecting to the server (the email provider) that eventually resolved itself.
