I need some help to share a file from iCloud drive to DropBox. I am new user here, so pardon my ignorance, please!

Thanks.

If you're on a Mac, open the iCloud Drive application on your Mac, locate the file in question, then open the DropBox app and drag the file from the one to the other.

Thank you.
I realized that I had to learn more about DropBox! So I have not read your answer for me until now. Turns out that I already had a DropBox personal account sitting full for 3-4 years--I didn't know how to use it at all. So it was simply ignored. Long story short--I have spent time with it and now cleaned out all the previous files (unsynced them!!). I may or may not use DropBox as it will want $ soon for storage. But I already have a lot of storage with Google (ignorance again, but it is there and I'll keep it for now.) I have also been paying Apple for storage ever since we bought me the iPad 2 - in 2011, I believe.
Thankfully, last fall I remembered about this group!
I am currently working on a cool memoir, having contracted a writing coach/author to assist me completing this manuscriopt.
I'm super glad to be in touch with VMUG, though. I really need the support and encouragement!
Thanks again for seeing my rather pathetic plea...and answering.:)

Hello again. I need advice about DropBox again, please.

I have deleted all my files from DropBox that I previously allowed DropBox access to. As far as I know, all the files are all still on my MacBook Air.

On March 18, 2024 I received an Email from DropBox informing me that I had deleted 1966 files, and had until 3/4/2024 to restore them. Of course , they have been hassling me to buy more storage, which I don't want because I have a lot of Google storage and Apple storage. I had a DropBox account previously that I really didn't know what I was doing with. It was full (which I didn't realize) when I fell for the suggestion to give accesability to DBox!!!

Sooo, H-E-L-P!

Thanks.

Copy any files you have on Dropbox (any account) onto a local storage device (external HD for example). One you are sure you have the files you want, eject the drive you stored them onto, then delete everything in the Dropbox accounts, and finally close your Dropbox account on their website.

Add a spam filter to Mail to move any future correspondence from them directly into the trash. :)
