macOS High Sierra install disk/usb

Hi all. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro without a recovery partition and no os. Apple support advised that I have to take it to a 3rd party to get a boot disk. Any of you know of other options?

If someone happens to have High Sierra discs lying around, let Mike know.

Otherwise, I’d suggest you bring it to London Drugs (or another Apple Authorised Service Provider) to put the old OS on it.

If you have a working Mac aside from that one and a way to burn discs, you could conceivably download the High Sierra installer and create a boot disk, though this is not for the faint of heart.

I gave up on the High Sierra. I've now inherited a MacBook with Monterey. Still pretty snappy - dual boot Linux Mint is very fast. I did have to replace the battery as when I popped it open to clean, the panel separated due to three of the 4 battery packs were swollen... yikes.
