Problems publishing images to website using iWeb

iMac 2007 OSX 10.8.5. Just has some slides scanned by Prismimaging @ $1.50 per slide. Downloaded from disc to iPhoto. Now have them on desktop. Renamed the slides. They are jpegs. Have not had any problem before this using images this way. But they simply will not publish. Site comes up with a ? in middle of where image should be. Can anyone help me with this. I really like the iWeb app, it works fine for what I want it to do. Fingers crossed and Thanks in advance. G

The likely problem is that either the scanned slides are too large in resolution or they are the wrong format (not .jpg).

thanks for replying Chas. I am at a loss. All images are in .jpeg on the disc. supposedly 4.5mg only but showing only 350kb 400kb largest is 650kb. on the disc. I open from the disc. Have tried dragging onto desktop, opening into photoshop, etc. even screen shot from the image to desktop. But nothing will publish. It is only slides that I am having trouble with. If you go to the site www.marshallinman.com and go to Porcelain Carved Functional Work in the index at top. The bottom two images have the ? in the middle.

Ill attach a screen shot of my last try. Exported for web to the desktop and published as usual. Still will not publish.

I've also tried republishing the entire page a couple of times also, but still with no success. Any image from the slides, as well as another image from a slide that I had done awhile ago, will not publish to the site.

GOT IT SORTED. Thanks Charles, went over what I was doing in Photoshop and all is good. G
