Is there a way to list Smart Mailboxes alphabetically in Apple mail.....
Mine have grown in numbers and are a dogs breakfast making fining a particular mailbox a chore.

Not that I know of, because they're not really mailboxes ... they're saved searches. You could create a Smart Mailbox folder and group related smart mailboxes together, or you could rethink what needs to be a Smart Mailbox (versus "regular" mailbox) and reorganize ...
