Mail problem.

I have posted this problem before but could not find an answer.
Here is the set up. Two computers (his/hers) that are receiving mail in mailboxes that have the same mail preferences.
The issue is.... If an email is trashed ..... It is also trashed on the other computer .iphone . iPad. We do not want this to happen.
Does iCloud have something to do with this? I looked into the setting... but did not want to fool with them.........
as I do not want to go where angels fear to tread...!!!! :D

This is working as expected. You appear to be sharing an IMAP account, and that's exactly how IMAP accounts behave: whatever you do to an email on any of your devices accessing that email account, it is done to them all. This is by design.

The "solution" is either to set up separate email accounts for each of you, or designate one person to be the ONLY person who can trash emails.

So no, iCloud has nothing to do with this, per se. It is the nature of all IMAP-based email accounts.

"designate one person to be the ONLY person who can trash emails."

Nope. Have Marnie sternly explain to you that ONLY SHE is allowed to trash emails. Wagging THE FINGER is optional…
