Output of the SHUFFLE

The issue of whether or not the output of the SHUFFLE is sufficiently powerful to feed into a typical portable radio either needs answering by (1) considering the specs of the SHUFFLE (which we can’t seem to find and, if we could, would be technically challenges enough to question any conclusion WE could come to) OR (2) someones empirical experience with the SHUFFLE being successfully played through such a portable radio.

So does anyone who has a SHUFFLE have such experience or technical knowledge?

Hi all,
Can anyone tell us if music we’ve recorded as “.m4a” files (which we understand are "Apple MPEG-4 audio” (which is what we see in the INFO window/“kind" displayed on our iMac) can be transfered to an iPOD SHUFFLE (via the USB cable provided with the iPOD SHUFFLE unit) and then played through our portable radio that has a line input mini jack receptacle? The only output jack we see on the iPOD SHUFFLE is for an earphone. Our portable radio currently plays Serius satellite music so it seems capable for the output from our Sirius receiver. But we’re unsure of the capability of the iPOD SHUFFLE before we have one shipped from Apple — no specs to judge it from the ads so a comment from anyone who has some experience or relevant knowledge would be truly appreciated.

Note that an iPOD, as opposed to the iPOD/SHUFFLE may have sufficiently different circuitry so as to permit this but we're interested in the cheaper SHUFFLE (unless, of course, someone on list has a used iPOD for sale).

Of general interest: The music has been recorded from “http://seeburg1000.com/player” which broadcasts, for free, our kind of relaxation and dance music — absolutely wonderful medleys of music from our era and aging ears. They have recordings for sale, as well. Give them a listen, their on 24 hours a day.
