Hide my email v Alias

I decided to try "Hide my Email", and sent a couple of test email to myself and to a friend. In all cases the email went to "Junk". Rather defeats the purpose, and not sure what I may have done wrong. I meet all the criteria, including Cloud+ and the latest OS - Ventura.

Also created an Alias, and that worked OK.

I think you misunderstand the purpose of Hide My Email. It's not meant to be used for anyone you know -- it's meant to be used for signing up for newsletters or commercial offers etc -- not someone in your contacts. When they reply to that address, THAT will get forwarded to your normal email address, though if you have rules set up to filter out junk it will still end up in the Junk folder.

Hide My Email is just to prevent marketers from ever having your real email, so you can turn off that address easily when desired.
