iPhone not sending/receiving phone calls

My iPnone very recently (can't be sure exactly when) no longer works when I try to phone out, nor does it ring when I call it from my landline. I'm using Public Mobile, and other services, such as internet, email, FaceTime all seem to be fine, though the FaceTime I can't be totally sure of, since I used it last yesterday, and just noticed the phone problem today. Any suggestions?

This problem was solved by an employee at a Tom Harris Telus store. He did a "soft reset", which I had not heard of, and that fixed the problem.

I was just about to tell you to do that very thing!

For anyone reading this: if your iPhone begins behaving oddly (apps not opening or crashing, some services not working), it may be that it has been a loooong time since you last restarted it. The sleep/wake button we all typically use does not actually turn the iPhone off, so Every once in a while (once or twice a year, or whenever it’s misbehaving), it’s a good idea to actually turn it completely off.

For an iPhone (or iPad) with Touch ID, this is usually done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button together for about four seconds. You’ll see a slider switch appear that offers to turn the phone off, and at that point you can let go of the buttons and slide the on-screen slider.

For a phone (or iPad) with Face ID, hold the upper volume button together with the sleep/wake button to get the same screen.

What the fellow did was more than just powering off and restarting. I had done that a couple times and it did no good. What he did was to press the volume up button, the volume down button and then the home button (opposite side on my iPhone 11) and not let go until the screen went dark. It then restarted on its own and worked thereafter.

Yes, that's the next step to take if the full shutdown and restart doesn't do the trick.
