MalwareBytes was run as suggested by Charles but the unwanted link still persists. Yesterday there was a MalwareBytes update and after downloading and rescanning, there was a Threat (see attached) which I have quarantined but when looking at the coding of "amUpdater.plist" and "amPref.plist" under Archive Manager, neither appears to be the same issue as the unwanted link.

Two questions:
1. Is there another suggestion to eliminate the unwanted link?
2. Re this Threat that has been quarantined that seems to have two files, is there anything in the coding that would indicate they should not actually be deleted. (see attached). The Threat refers to a different file name ..../Email Access Online.safariextz ???

Preference files (if legit) will regenerate by themselves, so there's no harm in throwing them out if they are suspicious.

It looks like the updated Malwarebytes has caught the problem, a rogue Safari Extension. Removing that and restarting the Mac should clear up the issue, though you may need to still reset your preferred home page in Safari's preferences.

Cheers
