A client of mine sent this:
"In Safari when I open a site I get a different looking page … There is an over lay of the site. By clicking outside the information page I get to the page I want….
Top image is over lay… When I click the grey area I am taken to the Bottom image…where I wanted to go…."

Does anyone know why the overlay is appearing over the normal web page?

Dave, It's a client of mine that is experiencing this. I can't replicate it myself. Also, it's not just that one website. He is seeing the overlay window when going to any site at all. I'll ask him how he is opening sites.

I believe I can solve this mystery. Your client may have their Safari set to automatically use Reader Mode on certain pages, that one being one of them. When they click outside of the Reader View, they are turning off Reader Mode.

He can find and alter this by going in Safari to Settings -> Websites -> Reader.
