9 yo MacBook Air has blank screen and three beeps / 6 seconds

I was close to wiping and recycling this computer. My wife had more more look at it and now it has a blank screen, and is making 3 beeps every 6 seconds. No keyboard actions will fix it. I would like to wipe the data, ( already backed up) , but now can't access it.
Suggestions how to wipe/ destroy the HD before I recycle it? Drill holes through it? If so, where is the HD located? Pack strong magnets around it? ??

For the record, the problem with that MBA was that the RAM has failed. At that age, recycling is probably the best thing for it. You can drop it off at any London Drugs store for recycling if that’s convenient for you.
