Sorry to bother folks, but I keep getting messages emailed from my calendar announcing an upcoming or ever past event as follows. I use iCloud as my primary email but the others are still active. How can I stop these annoying pop ups that stop whatever I'm working on and can even kill an email i'm in the midst of composing. Any help welcome:))) Don Scott

You really need to clean up your outgoing servers. Click on the “edit SMTP server list” and delete the old stuff. Telus email uses Google servers now.

The specific reason you’re getting the message seen in your post is that you are trying to send a Gmail message out by using an iCloud server. That’s never going to work.

Delete the failing email from your outbox and/or drafts folder, then correct your email accounts so that your Telus/Gmail uses the Gmail server for outgoing, and your iCloud address uses the iCloud server for sending.

I have had similar messages while at my cabin sending email thru Telus mobility via my Iphone. At home I have Shaw Internet. Chas, if I understand you, one can tell each email account to only use it’s designated server, regardless of where one is connected to the net? So if I have a Yahoo email, a Gmail, and a Shaw address, they all need to be told to use their own servers, and that will stop these messages when I’m using my Iphone hotspot?

That’s correct. Email from a given provider has to be sent out using the mail server for that provider, i.e. @icloud.com mail has to use the iCloud server, @gmail.com has to use Google’s GMail server, @shaw.ca has to use Shaw’s IMAP server, etc.

HOWEVER!

You can’t send out Shaw email when you are not on Shaw’s internet service (except by using Shaw’s webmail portal), full stop. The same used to be true of Telus, but of course that changed when they dumped their email onto Google.
