Apple User Group Bulletin - January 15, 2019
......................................................................

January 24, 1984 holds a special place in the hearts of Mac fans because Steve Jobs introduced the Macintosh personal computer at Apple’s 1984 shareholder meeting and truly changed history.

Whether you stepped into the Apple stream with the Apple I, your beloved MacPlus, AppleWorks, the luggable Macintosh Portable, a Blackbird PowerBook 500, Newton PDA, a shiny QuickTake camera, Tangerine G3 iBook, Flower Power iMac, TAM, iPod, iPhone, or even an Apple Watch, something amazing was happening at Apple during the time when you became a part of the Apple story.

What memories do you have? We'd love to see pictures of you or your group with your first Apple product. Have a short remembrance about your first Mac? We'd love to read that too.

Do you need a great presentation for a meeting? Why not have your members attend a Today at Apple, hands-on educational session? Not practical for a group gathering? Why not have one member attend, take notes and present the same topic at your next meeting. This month’s offerings include How To: Prototype an App Using Keynote, Sketch Walks: Architectural Sketching Techniques, and Quick Start: Coding with Swift Playgrounds.

Ambassadors: January is a great month to check out Today at Apple!

This month's blog also offers a link to an article by Randy Singer, leader of the 9,000+ member MacAttorney User Group, co-author of multiple editions of the Macintosh Bible, author of the ABA’s The Macintosh Software Guide for the Law Office, writer of the MacAttorney Newsletter, and popular presenter. Randy offers a comprehensive and easy-to-understand article on the whys and hows of upgrading your Macintosh operating system.

As always, if you have an idea for a resource, let us know.
