Dear Apple (USB C adapter question)

An imagined letter to our
Dear Apple,
As you know, I have finally cracked under the pressure and decided to buy a new Iphone 15 Pro Max. I have been saving money for the five years since I bought my last new one, an Iphone XS, which as you know is pretty much nearly beyond practical use.
My phone arrives in a couple of days and I’m so excited! All my personal and social problems will be resolved and I will be the subject of tech admiration for days!
I noticed that the new phone uses a USB C type wire to plug in the phone, not the old Apple Lightning type.
Anyway, I do have one early question. For background, over the last many years I’m afraid I have slowly accumulated Apple lightning charging wires all over the place! I just realized I have one in my office, two in the hall desk (my wife and I charge there overnight), plus one in my basement workshop for playing tunes. Now I think of it I have one in my boat as well, and of course one in my truck, (CarPlay!) as well as my wife’s car. I think I have another one in the little bag that has my cell jump battery in it I take on mushrooming expeditions in the forest to power the GPS function, too. Actually now it comes to it, I have two at our cabin, wired into the 12 volt solar battery system, for the wife and I. Mmmm, and one in the workshop out the back my brother and I built back in the day before the kids were born, the cell signal is so weak there you need to charge your phone a lot.

Anyway, here’s my question, do you sell a cheap little adapter I can use so that I don’t have to replace these eleven wires? I am aware that Apple somehow cripples non-Apple wires and so I am going directly to the source!

Thank you for your consideration of us, your customer base. I’m sure you’ve anticipated this question as you have stopped selling wires and headphones along with every phone. Of course I’ve looked somewhat on the web, but have for some reason not been able to identify what I need on the Apple site.
Yours sincerely,
TJR

That was a fun (imaginary) letter to read. You clearly have let Apple too far into your life! :) I have a new iPhone 15 Pro to replace my old iPhone 11 and while not quite so buried in cables as you are, I did find myself buying a lot of new USB cables. It starts with one or two and then you realize you need another here, and a day later another there. The worst was the Belkin dongle that had lightning plugging into the 11, and then one lightning output that plugs (via lightning to usb A) into the plug in my car's "cigarette lighter" port, while an audio cable plugs into the other Belkin output to feed "CarPlay" directions into my car's radio. Fortunately Belkin remade this same dongle but with a USB C into the 15 Pro and a USB-C and audio port out. I couldn't find it locally, and Belkin had some issue selling to Canadian buyers, so Amazon to the rescue.

The one I haven't found so far is a USB C to micro B cable to use with some of my small Western Digital disk drives that use that micro B interface.

Of course all these woes are just a reminder of when they changed out the 30 pin connector on phones. A small (?) price to pay for progress.

Maybe Apple will someday produce a lightning to USB C dongle but I am over the worst now and really enjoying the new iPhone.

And I can't throw out my lightning cables yet either. I have keyboards, trackpads and Apple TV remotes that still need charging and none of these are likely to get replaced in the near future.

Hopefully not just charging cables at that price. Lets hope they handle data as well.
