Flash Player problem

Hi there,

Tried to update flash player for a site I need to go to and received this message after downloading and trying to install update. "AdobeFlashPlayer_21_a Protocol wrong the for socket."

Tried to google an answer and all that I could find was suggestion to reboot, reopen download and try again.
Received the same message.

Using mid 2010 15" macbook pro running OSX El Capitan Version 10.11.5

The only change made since last flash player update was doubling ram from original 4GB to 8GB a few days ago.

Any help would be appreciated. Pat

Well after a lot of frustration, contacting Adobe (who replied very quickly) and trying their suggestion of rebooting and trying again, which I had done before, I tried their last suggestion of checking a certain apple support url.

I restarted while pressing CMD R to get to the utilities menu and then reinstalled the OS. I downloaded flash player again from the Adobe site, installed and everything is now working.

Apparently I was not the only one experiencing that problem since the last update.
