imovie problems

A week ago I started to work with imovie.... all when fine as expected. Two days ago I returned to the app and now it is doing strange things....
I believe I have illustrated the problem in the attached image clip.... Choosing an event (double click) in the Project Library will open but cannot get it to display in the viewing window...
When I open an Event Libray item you can see by the image clip that only one clip of the Master Clip become visible and does play in the view window the bar is dragged.

Trust there is a preference that I have missed to fix the issues.... Thanks

I pitched everything and started again.... All is good in Sidney now.

For future reference, the problem you mention generally occurs when the source files of the video you were working with are no longer available (accidentally deleted or residing on a drive that isn't mounted). Glad all is well now!
