iPhone Email Failures

My daughter has an iPhone 13 Pro running the current version of IOS 16 on a Telus plan. She sent me the following question:

"Have you heard of or had any issues with sending emails when not in a wifi spot? My phone has randomly stopped sending them unless I’m at home"

Has anyone had this issue or know of any setting changes that could cause this to happen?

My only thought was a locational issue with a weak or non existent cel signal at the point of sending the email and then the iPhone not trying again until she was home in her own WiFi network. I have not asked her about her location yet but will call her tomorrow and ask a few more questions.
Thanks ...Colin

My older iPhone does similarly when I’m connecting to a weak wifi. Even if there’s a good cell signal, the phone tries to use the wifi instead of the cell signal, resulting in delays due to the crappy wifi. Try shutting off wifi then the phone goes strait to cell.

Finally tracked down the issue with my daughter. Turns out she was still using old Shaw email address and she was trying to send via Shaw. Great example why it was not working and she is scrambling now to get over to iCloud email and all of them are going out (and received) just fine on her iPhone 13 Pro.
