I upgraded my iMac from Mavericks to El Capitan (about 4 hours). Then there was a long list of updates to Numbers and other apps I do not use, which I dutifully accepted (several more hours.) What's left is a notice about two updates. One is Garage Band which I never use. The update is marked "Paused" and "Resume" so I tried to resume the update. Nothing happened. I clicked on the GB icon, which took me to another page, and an update option, which I clicked, and it started. Then I noticed there is a fee for this update ($6.99) so somehow I stopped it and it remains "paused" again. Since I do not want it, and was not told there was a cost for the update, how do I delete the update message? Similarly, there is an update for iphoto, which is "paused". I clicked "resume" and nothing happened, so I again clicked the app icon. Up came a message saying something like "this app is not available from the App Store in Canada." So how do I delete the update message for the app I can't even get, even if I wanted it?
