I have some movie DVD's that I would like to copy to our computer.
What app would this forum recommend?

For commercial movie discs with copyguard protection, I'm not sure there is an easy answer -- but Handbrake would be the tool I'd suggest. It's free, and you can find it here: https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php

You can also find the documentation there, which is strongly recommended for people unfamiliar with the program.

A far simpler interface (i.e., easier to use) product is available, but not free. Ripit is $25US but it does the job in literally one click. You can investigate it here: http://thelittleappfactory.com/ripit/

Likewise, these tools can rip non-commercial DVDs, and there's also good ol' Roxio Toast for this sort of thing.
